Why Zoom Profile Picture not Showing in Meeting [Fixed]

Fix zoom not showing profile picture infies

Zoom is an audio/video calling and meeting platform, which has increased its users tremendously over the last few months. Just like every other social media platform, Zoom also provides you with an option to upload your photo as “Zoom Profile Picture”. This picture comes on display when you are at an audio meeting or your video is not turned on. But sometimes zoom profile picture does not show and many people have complained about it recently. Instead of a display photo, the initials of your name show, and it becomes confusing to recognize in a meeting with more participants. So profile picture is a good option instead of just initials of your name. But a lot of common problems nowadays which people say ” zoom profile picture not showing” and solution to this problem is mentioned in this article. Read the article thoroughly and try our 6 methods to solve this “Picture Not Showing” problem.

1. Set up your Profile Photo

At first, you need to set up the profile photo that you want as your display. Find out how to set up the profile picture for your Zoom account in our other article.

2. Log in to Zoom before you join a Meeting

You may encounter this problem because you don’t stay signed in every time you join a meeting. In this case, you join the meeting with a guest account that does not exhibit a profile photo. To solve this issue all you need to do is to sign in to your account when you join the meeting next time. In case if you join it by link without getting a sign-in option, leave the meeting right away and re-join it with your account. You might be logged into your account from the app and not the browser or vice versa so make sure to log in first before you join a meeting.

3. Enable the Stay Signed in Option

If it is not convenient to log in every time you join a meeting, you may keep your account logged in by enabling the check box next to Stay signed in.  In this way, Zoom will never forget you and will show up your photo as well.

Stay Signed in on Zoom Website:

Launch any browser on a PC or a mobile phone and open the Zoom web sign-in page. Enter your credentials and check the box beside Stay signed in. Now you may join the meeting.

Stay Signed in on Zoom Desktop App:

Launch the Zoom app on your PC or laptop and click on Sign In. In the next window enter your login details and check the box beside Keep me signed in. You can now see your profile picture at the top right corner. If it appears blank head back to the first method and check out our other article.

If you tend to join a meeting via the link, then you might join it without logging in. Hover the cursor over the Zoom icon on the taskbar and you will see two Zoom windows.  Click on the first window to Sign In.

Stay Signed in on Zoom Mobile App:

When you launch the mobile application and if you are not logged in, you will see a page with some graphics in the center and Sign Up/Sign in options at the bottom. Tap Sign In and enter your credentials. When you are signed in, head to the settings and check if you can see your profile picture. Then, join the meeting.

4. Set Photo via Browser

The most useful way to set Zoom profile photo is using the browser. Open zoom website on a browser from desktop or mobile phone. Sign in to your account and go to Settings. Click the Profile tab to see your name and photo/icon. Select change/upload and select photo to upload. Tap Save and the photo will sync to all the devices with the relevant account.

5. Open Zoom App and Log In Manually

When you tap your meeting invitation link, you get two options to either open in the Zoom app or open in the Browser. Sometimes even if you choose the Zoom app, it makes you attend the meeting on the browser. If you are not logged in here then you may not be able to see your profile photo. To fix this issue, manually launch the app on desktop or mobile and join the meeting via the meeting code. This will solve your issue.

6. Disable the “Hide Participants Profile Pictures” Feature

Zoom has a feature for meeting host where he/she can hide the profile pictures of participants. You may ask the host to disable this feature. To disable, open Zoom on browser and Sign in. Click Settings and click on Meeting (Basic) under the meeting tab. Scroll down and Disable the toggle next to Hide participants profile pictures in a meeting option.

I hope that these fixes have helped you in showing the Zoom profile picture.
